The Compass Class Pilot Program

The Compass Class Pilot Program

Is an Adult Service program designed to service students who have aged out of Turning Pointe’s CN Day School (based on their age of 22 and/or IEP services). With comprehensive clinical supports, the Compass Class Pilot participants continue to work on their communication, socially appropriate behaviors, functional living, and supported employment skills. Please note that at this time Turning Pointe’s Pilot Compass Program is only open to students previously serviced within the Day School. This pilot continues to evaluate needs based on growth, sustainability, community impact, etc.

Due to pandemic related issues including the labor shortage, this program is currently on hiatus, except to our work-eligible student colleagues.

Expanding to serve the growing autism community

In 2024, after the generous donation of property adjacent to Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, the Board of Directors and its sub-committee began work to expand the footprint of its campus. The project's scope includes a new bus-traffic access road and an approximately 25,000 sq. ft. building to occupy the growing number of autistic adults seeking employment, respite, and support services. Moving adult services into a new space - designed specifically for their needs - allows Turning Pointe to expand programs for children in the existing building simultaneously.

With an anticipated start date in Summer 2024 and completion in 2026, the project will require support from new and loyal community partners. The project will launch with an estimated budget of $15m.
