Chicago Auto Show’s ‘First Look For Charity’ Welcomes Turning Pointe Autism Foundation

The Chicago Auto Show’s 32nd First Look for Charity gala will take place from 7 to 11PM on Fri., Feb. 9, at McCormick Place.  

Turning Pointe Autism Foundation (TPAF) joins 17 other Chicagoland charities among the beneficiaries, continuing its involvement in this charity event as part of its commitment to the community and the significant impact it aims to achieve.

Mark Rivera of ABC 7 has graciously accepted TPAF’s invitation to emcee the event reception, bringing his signature charm and professionalism to elevate the evening’s festivities.

In addition, Walgreens, a partner in TPAF’s adult training program for over 10 years, will serve as one of the event’s Patron Sponsors. Also joining as a Patron Sponsor is Forvis, one the largest public accounting firms, and longtime volunteers at TPAF. Their collective participation underscores the event’s importance and promises a memorable experience for all attendees.

First Look for Charity, Chicago Auto Show, again will be held at McCormick Place, 2301 S. King Drive, in Chicago. This black-tie affair offers an exclusive, first chance to experience the Chicago Auto Show ahead of the 10-day public opening at McCormick Place on Feb. 10. 

Tickets are on sale for $325 each, with $268 as tax-deductible. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

 Chicago Auto Show’s First Look for Charity

First look for charity stands as one of Chicago’s greatest one-day fundraisers, regularly generating nearly $3 million for 18 area nonprofits. Held at McCormick Place the evening before the Chicago Auto Show opens, the benevolent event is anticipated by socialites and car buffs alike. Over the past 30 years, the Chicago Auto Show’s First Look for Charity benefit has raised nearly $56 million for local charities. 

A Little of Chicago Auto Show’s Long History

First staged in 1901, the Chicago Auto Show has grown to become the largest auto show in North America. The mostly-annual event has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent, according to its website.

The 2024 Chicago Auto Show marks the 116th edition of the popular attraction. The day after First Look for Charity, the show will be open daily to the public from Sat., Feb. 10 through Mon., Feb. 19. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

Editor’s Note / We’ve attended First Look for Charity numerous times since 1993 back when the March of Dimes was among the beneficiaries. The event is well presented in the spacious setting. Delicious food and fun entertainment abound. To get the most out of the experience, plenty of walking is required. Wear comfortable shoes.
