Turning Pointe Autism Foundation is sad to be canceling the 2020 Naperville Pumpkin Race.

NAPERVILLE, IL. — Due to COVID-19 and restrictions in public gatherings, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation is sad to announce the cancelation of the 2020 Naperville Pumpkin Race to the general public.

The World’s Famous Pumpkin Race began in Manhattan Beach, California to provide individuals with autism work experience. The race was adopted by Turning Pointe Autism Foundation to bring similar work experience to its students in 2016. The Turning Pointe students have been packing and label pumpkin kits that are for sale on the Turning Pointe website. Kits are being shipped around the USA for smaller groups to put together their own, socially distant, Pumpkin Race. Purchasing kits this year still helps students that are learning and receiving services on-site at Turning Pointe Autism Foundation. Currently, pumpkin race kits are for sale for only $20.00+ shipping by visiting the Turning Pointe website at www.TurningPointeAutismFoundation.org .

Now is a great time for you to start your own pumpkin race. A truly unique event, with a race kit, you may decorate and place your pumpkin on wheels to race down your driveway or in your neighborhood. Take pictures and tag Turning Pointe Autism Foundation on Facebook to show your support. Remember, if you have a cheater pumpkin at your Pumpkin Race — such as a melon disguised as a pumpkin — your referee will need to pull it from the race and smash it to the delight all!

Turning Pointe students will be doing a private race on our school grounds. Please watch for social media for race highlights.
