Maybe the vacation happened when you were a child, a teenager, a young adult, or an octogenarian. One of my favorite vacations was when I was about 15. I went to Italy with my family. Family meaning, my parents, my siblings, my grandparents & I. It was one of the coolest experiences of my life. My grandparents got to show us what places were their favorite to visit. We visited so many cool cities with neat little shops. We visited Pompeii, Calabria, Cosenza & many other places. One really really awesome place is my family’s cheese shop in southern Italy. This was all my grandpa’s family i.e .cousins. We were welcomed with open arms, as well as feeding us fresh cheese & crackers. They had 2 cows outback, & they made fresh cheese & milk, and luckily enough we were able to eat some cheese. If you didn’t know this blogger loves cheese!! So I was in heaven. It was some of the best cheese I’ve EVER had! Talk about fresh! We also eat gravy in our culture. Gravy meaning red sauce. Downstairs, in the basement my grandpa’s cousins were stirring the gravy in this MASSIVE cauldron. It smelled so good. They also were canning tomatoes, & putting the gravy in tubs to save for a later date. It was so cool. On top of the cheese shop was their house. I had the best time. It was really cool to see my grandpa so excited! And of course, they gave us cheese to take home! That might have been the best part. We also did a little bit of sightseeing on our own. Like we went to this blue grotto, where the water was crystal clear & the perfect temperature.. We also went to this little beach behind our hotel & just played in the water. It was the best vacation & I was lucky enough to go with my family. If you have a chance to go to Italy, or really anywhere outside of the states…you should definitely go. You won’t regret it, I certainly didn’t.
