Turning Pointe Autism Foundation: Be Accepting All Year Round - Turning Pointe Autism Foundation

Autism Acceptance. What is Autism Acceptance month? We chose that word because we need not only to be aware that there are autistic people in our families, but accept that they are who they are. The autistic community is accepting of “normal” people and it makes me wonder can “normal” people be accepting?

We need to accept all their eccentricities and their struggles to use that knowledge. Our communities would be so much more communal. Meaning those families could go to event’s and not be ostracized, not stared at, or judged harshly. Their autistic child could be playing with another child who is considered “normal.”

This April Turning Pointe has several new things to .

April 6 is an Autism, Emergencies, and First Responders webinar that starts at noon
April 13 is a Legal and Financial planning for special needs webinar at noon and 6:30PM
April 20 is Autism and Inclusion in the Workplace webinar at noon
April 23 is Service Saturday at Turning Pointe Autism Foundation from 9AM-noon
Also, this month, check out my new blog.

() My blog officially appeared online on March 16.

I share my experiences, with being an autistic employee, daughter, friend and human. My first article is about what autism means to me. I talk about other things among autism, I also put my own fun twist on things.
